Lage:
Das Apartment Timanfaya befindet sich in der Inselmitte von Lanzarote, in Tinguaton, und liegt unmittelbar am Rande der Lavafelder des heutigen Nationalparks Timanfaya und in direkter Nähe des Ortes Mancha Blanca. Der Ort wäre bei den Vulkanausbrüchen von 1730 bis 1736, und dem bisher letzten großen Ausbruch im Jahre 1824, als die Lava nur wenige Meter vor dem Ort erstarrte, mehrmals von den Lavaströmen fast überrollt worden.
Die Legende besagt, dass sich die Bevölkerung göttlichen Beistand mithilfe der Heiligenstatue Virgin de los Dolores aus der Kirche San Rogue im benachbarten Tinajo holte. Mit ihr zogen sie in einer Prozession dem fließenden Lavastrom entgegen, der dann am 16. April 1736 am Berg Montaña de Guiguan stehenblieb und erstarrte.
Zum Flughafen sind es ca. 13 km, Puerto del Carmen 14 km und nach Playa Blanca ca. 25 km.

The Timanfaya apartment is located in the middle of the island of Lanzarote, in Tinguaton, right on the edge of the lava fields of today’s Timanfaya National Park and in the immediate vicinity of Mancha Blanca. The place would have been the volcanic eruptions from 1730 to 1736, and the last major eruption in 1824, when the lava solidified only a few meters from the site, was almost overrun by the lava flows almost.
